Crazypalooza! Recapping Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Festival 2015

You came. You saw. You drank an insane amount of beer and partied all day and night!

You guys rocked Maple Bacon Fest 2015! All told, nearly 7,000 thirsty beer fans descended on the brewery and festival grounds along 38th Street in Oakland Park. You came to listen to amazing jams courtesy of Albert Castiglia Band, Royal Majestic, Mike Mineo, and the Shortstraw Pickers (Albert’s rampaging, extended guitar solo in the middle of his set had thousands of people toe tapping along). You came to get your hands on Maple Bacon Coffee Porter, of which we sold 10,000 bottles in mere hours. And you came to try one of the best assemblages of local beers ever in South Florida, with over brews from the likes of Wynwood Brewing, 7eventh Sun, Swamp Head, Engine 15, Angry Chair, Saltwater, Due South, Lauderale, J. Wakefield, and more (not to mention over 40 Buddha brews).

Kegs were popped in record time, too. Toppling Goliath’s Pseudo Sue lasted seven hole minutes (SEVEN), and so did Revolution Brewing’s Deth’s Tar Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. The festival grounds also played host to one of the largest bottle shares we’ve seen, with board members from BeerAdvocate planning and executing a killer share.

Most of all, people had fun. We did our best to move people through the bad stuff about big festivals (long lines, stress of not getting bottles) as quickly as possible, and allow everyone to relax and enjoy the beautiful, South Florida weather without worry. Though the event was far from our vision of perfect, hopefully we did just that. Rest assured we will continue to get better at throwing an epic party over here. And we definitely have some fun stuff planned for this year along those lines.

Now, take a peek at these recaps and share your story of Saturday with us via Facebook. Maple Bacon Coffee Porter 2015 is in the books but it will return. This is the beer that launched us as a name in the brewing industry. We wanted to celebrate it rightly, but also celebrate you all who have made it all possible. Thank you for coming out, and we’ll see you next time here at the brewery!
